Czech Blades s.r.o. Issues a Strong Warning Against the Widespread Circulation of Counterfeit TIGER Branded Products in Indonesia
A company incorporated under the laws of the Czech Republic, Czech Blades s.r.o., through its legal counsel Pulungan, Wiston & Partners, has issued an official warning to the public and business actors regarding the increasing circulation of counterfeit razor blade products bearing the TIGER trademark in Indonesia. This warning was published in the national newspaper Kompas on 21 May 2026 as a firm measure to protect the intellectual property rights of the trademark owner.
Czech Blades s.r.o. is the lawful owner and the first registrant of the TIGER trademark, which has been duly registered with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Indonesia under Class 8 for razor blade products.

Proliferation of Counterfeit Products
In recent times, counterfeit and/or imitation products have been identified in the Indonesian market, unlawfully using trademarks that are identical or confusingly similar to the TIGER trademark. Such products not only pose potential harm to consumers but also damage the reputation of the genuine brand.

As outlined in the official warning document, there are significant differences between genuine and counterfeit products, including:
- Outer packaging: Genuine products bear the official Czech Blades hologram, whereas counterfeit products lack such hologram and may display different branding such as “QUICKTIGER”.
- Print and design quality: Genuine products feature neat, precise, and consistent design, while counterfeit products appear poorly aligned and of inferior quality.
- Razor blade product: Genuine products use plain wrapping paper without additional markings, whereas counterfeit products include extra labels or inscriptions.

Legal Actions Against Infringement
Through this warning, Czech Blades s.r.o. firmly asserts that any party involved in the manufacture, importation, distribution, sale, or storage of counterfeit products will be subject to strict legal action.
Applicable sanctions include:
- Civil claims pursuant to Article 83 paragraph (1) of Law No. 20 of 2016 on Trademarks and Geographical Indications;
- Criminal sanctions of up to 5 (five) years’ imprisonment and/or fines of up to IDR 2,000,000,000 as stipulated under Article 100 paragraph (1) of the same law;
- Additional penalties for parties involved in trading counterfeit goods.
Relevant parties are also granted a period of 14 (fourteen) days to cease all infringing activities and to withdraw and destroy counterfeit products from circulation.
Commitment to Consumer and Brand Protection
The issuance of this warning reflects Czech Blades s.r.o.’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the TIGER trademark and protecting consumers from non-genuine products that may cause harm.
Pulungan, Wiston & Partners, as legal counsel, emphasizes the importance of awareness among business actors and the public in respecting intellectual property rights and ensuring that only genuine products are distributed in the market.
The circulation of counterfeit goods is not merely a legal issue, but also one that affects consumer trust and the sustainability of a fair and competitive business environment. Accordingly, all parties are urged to remain vigilant and to comply with the applicable laws and regulations governing the use of registered trademarks in Indonesia.
